Who we are
The Reword extension and reword.fit are operated by the Reword team.

What this extension does
Reword lets you save words or short phrases you select on any webpage to your personal vocabulary list on reword.fit, so you can review and learn them later.
Data we collect
- Account data — your email and password (email/password login) or a Google ID token ("Continue with Google"), sent directly to reword.fit over HTTPS. We never receive your Google password.
- Saved word data — when you choose "Save word", we send the selected text, the URL and title of the page, and the single sentence your selection appears in, capped at a few hundred characters (saved to show where the word came from). Nothing is sent from a page unless you choose to save a word. You can turn off sending the page URL/title and the sentence independently, anytime, in your extension settings.
- Local session data — your login token and email are stored locally in your browser to keep you signed in. The token is sent only to reword.fit to authenticate your requests.
- Last visit date — the date you last opened reword.fit is stored locally in your browser, used only to show a reminder on the extension's toolbar icon when you haven't visited yet today. It is never sent to our servers or anywhere else.
How we use your data
We use your data only to provide the Reword service: saving words to your vocabulary list, generating translations, and showing where each word came from. We process it because it is necessary to provide the service you requested.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not track your browsing history. Page URLs and titles are sent only for words you choose to save.
- We do not run analytics or third-party trackers in this extension.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
Third parties
- AI translation service — to generate translations, the selected text is sent from our server to a third-party AI translation provider. It processes this data only to return a translation.
- Google — "Continue with Google" uses Google OAuth (accounts.google.com) only to authenticate you. Google's own privacy policy applies to that step.
- Hosting — our servers are hosted by DigitalOcean.
Data retention
Saved words, account data, and page context you submit are stored for as long as your account exists. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email support@reword.fit — we will process your request within 30 days.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction, export, or deletion of your data by emailing support@reword.fit. If you are in the EU, you can also file a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If we change this policy, we will update the date above.
